Fits 2003 Ford Ranger 4.0L with Auto. trans. OR Manual trans. Advance does not specify or qualify that in lookup but I find it to be (even though 1 reviewer claimed shroud would not fit as he had M.T. on his vehicle which he did not specify year, make, model, engine). Shroud should fit so just leave cooler ports plugged if you have M.T. and you are good to go. If you are a novice, now would be a good time to get yourself a remote cable hose clamp pliers to ease spring clamps off & onto the plastic inlet and outlet. You may want a small worm screw clamp for the reservoir tube as the hose may have taken a slight set to old neck fitting. Now is a good opportunity to flush coolant and install new hoses, thermostat, and radiator cap as required. Again, new radiator cap not included with radiator but old should fit. JON-HEY/ USA

I chose this radiator for my small truck because it was what AAP had and my stock radiator was leaking. The FIRST time I replaced it the new one started leaking within the first 2 weeks. Took it back and exchanged it for a new one and chalked it up to a defective part. No problem. Installed the SECOND one and now a year later, it is leaking again...somewhere around where the plastic holding tank seams up with the aluminum. Save your money, time and aggravation by getting a different brand. Look for Spectra or Visteon.

    Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

When we got the correct model it fit perfect!

Here is what I have found from buying both models and researching on the Ford ranger forum I hope it helps someone.

The vehicle I am trying to install this radiator on is a 1998 Ford Ranger XLT 3.0 eng
HOWEVER I ordered a radiator based on the year shown on the title/registration which is 1998 and it turns out that the truck was manufactured in october 1997 (info from door plate) so the 1998 model will NOT work if the truck was made in 97.
How do I know?? I Bought both. Advanced Auto has such a generous return/and or exchange policy it was an easy transaction. Add to that online discounts from speed perks and a live chat that will get a fast answer...
Summary.... If you need this radiator for a 1997 or 98 ford ranger look at your door plate first for actual year made and physically look at online pics and your model. From what I have learned only the front end of the 1997 ford ranger model was upgraded on 97 to 98 note: it is easy to see the difference between the two so just look at it before you begin

                      A:

Happy to help with your question Gregg! There may be different depth radiators depending on the grade and options that came with your vehicle. For example a truck may require a larger radiator because it came with a towing package versus the base model that came with a normal sized radiator. You can enter your vehicle information and check under specifications tab to get more information to determine with one you need.
