      Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

Radiator was a quick installation with one tie up being the upper trans cooler line nipple was to short for my 1997 Dodge 1500. To correct the problem I had to cut the nut on the upper trans line so it would not bottom out on the radiator before the flared line would tighten down on the nipple. A longer nipple would solve this problem and would work for vehicles that have a short or long flare nut.

Ordered this online with a great coupon for 35% off. I went to the store an hour later and the salesperson had it waiting behind the check-out counter for me (I never contacted the store). It took me less than an hour to install, no surprises were waiting for me, it was an exact fit. I do recommend a flush kit, which may take another 30 minutes to install.

Drop in replacement for a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport. Super easy install especially since my truck has a separate transmission cooler. So it was just draining the radiator, removing six bolts, pull off two hoses, slap in the radiator, put six bolts and hoses back on, fill radiator. Done.

This seems to be a well made quality radiator at a good price. I was able to order online and pick up at the closest store. Advance had the best price around. You will need a special tool to disengage the quick disconnect transmission cooler line. Other than that, it is an easy straight forward install. So far, no leaks. It is lightweight and easy to handle. There was no core charge and I didn't have to turn in the old radiator. I would recommend this radiator to anyone looking for a replacement.

                  Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

This was a very easy direct fit for a replacement radiator. Everything lined up perfectly. The fittings for the transmission cooler were already installed. There is a "quick connector" on the bottom fitting that requires a special tool in order to remove. You can make a tool yourself out of the cap to a "Sharpie" permanent marker. Cut about 3/8ths of an inch off the open end of the cap and then make a split down the side. Wrap this plastic "tool" around the radiator side of the quick connect. Push the "tool" into the fitting and then pull the line away from the radiator. It works easy when done correctly but it may take you a couple of tries. Beats the heck out of the $99.00 professional tool.

Leaking Transmission line on the fitting to the radiator side that came with the radiator... :( I've seen your comment about using an o ring or tape. I didn't get an O ring with the install kit in the box. Was one (or two) O rings supposed to be in there for the transmission fittings? I just used teflon tape tonight and will see if it still leaks when I drive the truck tomorrow. Also, there were no install instructions came with mine to point this potential problem out.

These kind of fittings are of kind that expand, they further screw in. Try tightening with the O ring as long as they are tight enough. If this did not work then go for a thread tape or sealant.
