I have read in forums that replacement radiators (not any in specific) do not have the correct fittings for the auxiliary transmission cooler (part of the radiator). This one worked fine, as it came with adapter fittings. The lines will not fit correctly without them, so be sure you have them in your box.

I also had to trim a small section of plastic to fit the fan shroud. No big deal, it might even have been of my own doing from a previous repair.

Other than that, this matches in every way possible.

The automatic transmission fittings on the radiator was left losse from the factory and when i test drove the vehicle i had transmission fluid everywhere. had a tough time tigtning the fittings while the radiator was still in the car. did not want to take the radiator back out so i finally got them tight. had to add 1.5 qts of transmission fluid and wash down the entire front half of the engine. there should have been a quality check on the raditor before it left the factory. other than that good product.

Just like the original. Every thing fit. Would be a little hard to install if you're not familiar with all the bolts and latches.

Not the easiest to install but nothing to do with the part. Works great everyday and towing to keep her cool. No issues and seems well made.

      Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

During the coldest week of the year my radiator burst. Not knowing much about them I ordered this one since it was an exact match to the one in the truck. Still being skeptical I was extremely impressed with the ease of switching them. It went in perfectly and I am very happy with it's performance. I would recommend this over the cheaper ones that may require extra work to make it fit. I am very happy with it.

      Comments about CARQUEST Radiator:

It's a radiator, more difficult to get out than in. This radiator has screws on the bottom and top with a snap in clip on the left (facing the car). The it slides out of the clips on the right (facing the car). Once you find all the screws and clips, getting the old one out it a bit of a pain, but getting the new one in is easy. Attach the lower hose before installing for convenience.

            • Q:

I'm doing a V-8 conversion on a 1994 Ranger. The engine is a basically stock (Edelbrock intake, Holley 4bbl carb and mild Comp cam) 302 from a 1994 F-150 and I'm also using the F-150s 5 speed trans since my Ranger was a stick shift truck to begin with so I'm not concerned about trans cooler line fittings. Will this radiator work for my project or will I have to figure out something else?

                A:

Sorry, Mike. I am unable to suggest the exact Radiator for your vehicle as you are doing a V8 conversion. I would suggest that you take your vehicle and get it thoroughly checked by a certified mechanic before buying any parts that may/may not solve the problem.

I have installed this product and their were no fittings for transmission lines. I removed the ones from my old radiator but they will not fit into the new radiator. The male ends of fittings are to large for female of new radiator.

                A:

There is a slight chance that you received the wrong radiator or you may have to replace the female ends if possible.
