    • Q:

are there 16 wires? this engine has 16 plugs 2 per cylinder
Asked on 2/3/2010 by Lee from lancaster,PA

      • A:

No there is only 8 wires. The Hemi is a coil on plug, waste spark ignition. The wires run to the opposite bank from the coil and fires on the exhaust stroke to help with emissions. Later years (06-newer) went to a dual boot coil on plug (one coil over every 2 spark plugs with no wires) because of the Multiple Displacement System.
