Comments about CARQUEST Premium Spark Plug Wire Set:

These worked well on my 2003 Ford Explorer Sport. They were a little longer than the stock wires, but that actually wasn't a big problem as I just re-routed them a bit here and there, and in some cases in what I felt were better locations than stock because I could get them farther away from things like exhaust manifolds, heat risers and sharp places. They fit very well and snug. I did add a bit of dielectric grease inside the plug boot end as I didn't feel there was quite enough from the factory for my taste - some of them are in really difficult locations to get to so I like to have them as easy to get on and off as possible, but still have good retention and weather resistance. They do have a nice little "click" when they snap onto the plug - although you do have to listen for it (turn the radio down!).

Great product, wires are a bit longer than OEM but that don't matter. Better a little longer than running short. Went on very easy. So far no issues!!!!

Comments about CARQUEST Premium Spark Plug Wire Set:

I put these in my 2004 Ford Explorer at 125K after having Motorcraft wires since new. They were coupled with Auotolite plugs; BIG MISTAKE. If you have an Explorer or F-150 - stick to Motorcraft. Misfires started just after two weeks. After changing over to Motorcraft wires and plugs everything was back to smooth running.

06 Ford explorer 79,000 miles, had a low rpm miss under load and had been a little harder to start. changed plug wires, plugs and battery ( NGK Iridium IX Spark Plug) (stock battery tested at 325cca and was rated at 650cca) We went on 300mile trip in a snowstorm miss was gone and it started fine. I have been using NGK Iridium Spark Plugs in my KDX200 dirt bike for three years and they give then better low end power and it starts with a 1/2 kick most of the time when warmed up and they donot wear. Plugs, wires or battery fix my engine miss.

Comments about CARQUEST Premium Spark Plug Wire Set:

I replaced the plugs and wires on a 2002 Explorer
with 55000 miles on it one month ago. So far the vehicle is running good and I'm getting better gas mileage already. The wires fit very good on the plugs, but I had to put an excessive amount of force to the cap ends to get them on tight. They did clip but I found I had to go back and push on two of them a week later. They worked for my needs.

Comments about CARQUEST Premium Spark Plug Wire Set:

I bought these wires for my 02 Explorer. I replaced the original wires and they seem about the same in quality. I read that Autolite makes Ford Motorcraft parts, so I thought I would stay with like products. They all matched in length except for one, that one was a little longer. So there wasn't really any problems installing them. I also installed Autolite xp103 Iridium spark plugs. After installing them both the engine ran very smoothly. Prior to this I was having a slight rough idle, and on a couple of occasions I had a problem with long cranking starts. I did change the 5 year old battery too. Now the car runs great and starts like new.

These wires are not the same lengths as OEM.
Cylinders 2 & 3 are over 4" too long and cylinder 6 is about 2" too short.
The clips that attach the wires to the coil pack feel cheap compared to the stock wires and do not hold in place as well.

Most use copper. Copper is pretty good.
