I use this to cool the engine. I am not sure what all you want me to say. The radiator circulates the coolant in my engine so that my truck does not overheat. I am very happy about that because it is very difficult to drive a mile then wait until the engine cools down enough to drive another mile. Things that are not so great is writing a four hundred character comment about a radiator. This part if the review is not very helpful and I do not believe anyone will even read it. I can't believe I made it.

There is a port below the radiator cap that is used on some vehicles to connect the heater hose to. The radiator comes with a non-reinforced rubber cap on this port for vehicles like mine that don't use this port. When the system is under pressure this rubber cap will swell. After a few months the rubber cap cut on the hose clamp it was connected with. This would not have happened had there not been a not needed port or had a reinforced rubber plug been used. If you ca uses this port then your good, but if not buy from a different manufacture. I will never buy another Ready-Rad product, because they cannot be trusted with quality.

Fit well. Provided OEM cooling capacity. Only thing that concerns me is the rubber cap secured with band clamp on extra cooling fitting. Seems like cheap rubber and I question durability of this arrangement. Will need to keep an eyey on this as time goes by. Installed on 96 Tahoe.

Comments about ToughOne or Ready-Rad Radiator:

Well to start off I didn't want to buy a Radiator, but since the radiator in my truck had cracked around the engine oil cooler inlet and there wasn't no way of repairing it, I had to break down buy one. I looked at other parts stores and the prices where outrageous, then I found this one on here at advanceautoparts.com, which was already in stock and had it in stock at my local store, all I had to do was pay for it and go pick it up at my local store. Which was a plus. The price was reasonable.plus got discount from using coupon. The radiator was easy to install and came with everything that I needed. It seems to be made well and looks like oem, but I guess over time will tell, but so far driven over 1200 miles and I haven't had a problem with it. I would recommend it to a friend if they needed one. Thanks

Well the picture depicts it as copper and brass but it's definately aluminum and plastic. Not what I wanted to put in a classic truck but definately can't drive it without a radiator of some kind. It will have to do, just make sure you get the cheapest one offered as all advance sells are plastic ones and no since paying close to a copper price for these cheap run of the mill ones.

Comments about ToughOne or Ready-Rad Radiator:

This does have the extra hose outlet. It comes with a rubber cap and hose clamp for that outlet. This radiator did not come with any extra fittings, nor the necessary o-rings needed for install. The o-rings for the transmission cooler lines were there. The engine oil cooler line o-rings were not. I wish I had noticed this before taking the truck apart. I had no way to get back to the store for the o-rings (I used size 111 if anyone is curious). The cooler itself was quite nice, and fit perfectly. I would buy it again.

Comments about ToughOne or Ready-Rad Radiator:

Product available in stock when I needed (like now) I ordered it online and picked it up in the store and hour later. Received an online discount doing it that way. Packed well and no damage when I opened it. However to my surprise the thickness of the radiator was different than the one that was in the truck. (only about two thirds as thick) So I called the store to confirm that I received the correct radiator and he confirmed it was the bigger of the two available. I have to assume that the stock one was super heavy duty for the tow package that came on the Suburban. We don't tow much so we went for it. No problems so far. The only thing that caught me off guard a little was the oil fittings were slightly different. The stock unit had adapters and the new one didn't need them. Other than that out & in.

I'm happy to help, Mitch! As long as this CARQUEST or ToughOne Radiator (Part No. 431333) has the correct core depth for your truck, this radiator will work in your truck. Any cooler lines that you do not need to utilize, you may cap.

Don't forget to pick up some coolant as well. Peak Conventional Green Antifreeze/Coolant (Part No. PKA0G3/12016) will work if you have green coolant. If you have the orange coolant you will need some Dex-Cool type coolant such as, Advance Auto Parts Cool Antifreeze/Coolant (Part No. A131). Your truck will take 17.6 to 19.9 quarts
