Drained and filled my wife's 1994 Honda Civic, while also performing an axle replacement. It was locally available, fulfilled the DEXTRON-II transmission fluid specification in the Honda service manual, and looks like cherry juice - like everything else. I haven't observed (or expected) any noticeable change in performance, but a Honda Civic is hardly a hot-rod. This product is for older cars, so as long as you keep that in mind, you're set.

Overall, works well for a basic fluid replacement.

Hi Mike, good question! When comparing this fluid to the Mobil product, I'd recommend looking at the fluid recommendations and approvals in vehicle owner's manual to see if the fluids can be used interchangeably.

                        A:

I'm happy to help! Without seeing the level that your transmission dipstick shows for your 1988 Toyota Cressida GLE 2.8L L6, it's hard to tell how low your transmission fluid is. With the engine cold the cool mark on the dipstick is likely the correct level for the fluid. If there is a hot or warm marking, be sure to check the fluid when the vehicle has been warmed up to full operating temperature and allowed to rest for a few minutes (running). Then check the dipstick fluid level, it should be at or near the warm or hot marking.

Most often there will be a crosshatched area between the hot or warm and cool or cold markings. This is where the fluid level should typically be. If you need to add ATF, this CARQUEST Oil & Fluids Dexron III/Mercon (ATF) Automatic Transmission Fluid (Part No. CQ420) is a great choice.

                        A:

I'm happy to help, Kon Tang! The proper transmission filter will depend upon the vehicle. Each vehicle will have its own specifications for a transmission filter. This Advance Auto Parts Dexron III/Mercon Automatic Transmission Fluid (Part No. A100) will typically be used in older model Ford and GM vehicles. A hydraulic filter could likely be used with this fluid as ATF is considered hydraulic fluid.

If you could please provide your vehicle's year, make, model and engine size, we can locate the correct filter for your vehicle.

The recommendation for your 2000 Ford F-150 XLT 4.2L V6 2WD is Mercon V ATF (Advance Auto Parts Part No. A102) for your power steering.
