CARQUEST Oil & Fluids BlueDEF Diesel Exhaust Fluid (2.5 Gallons)

Part No. 501 Warranty Details
Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) is one of the key elements of the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) process used by Diesel Engine builders to meet EPA 2010 regulations.

Product Features:
  • BlueDEF is a nontoxic solution of 67.5% purified water and 32.5% ultra pure automotive grade urea.
  • BlueDEF is not a fuel or fuel additive. Instead, when injected into the exhaust stream and passed over a catalyst, BlueDEF helps convert NOx into nitrogen gas and water vapor - two harmless and natural components of the air we breathe.
  • BlueDEF is stable, colorless and odorless, and meets ISO Standards 22241 for purity and composition and is an American Petroleum Institute (API) certified diesel exhaust fluid. These are the highest quality and safety standards in place to ensure optimum
  • DEF is stored in a dedicated tank next to the fuel tank on the driver's side. The tanks range in size from 6 to 23 gallons depending on the truck's application. The DEF tank fill opening is designed to accommodate a DEF fill nozzle to ensure only DEF is p
  • In order for BlueDEF to work well product integrity is critical and our dispensing systems are the only way to maintain this quality. These reusable systems are also cost effective by providing a significant savings over single-use containers.
  • BlueDEF dispensing systems are available in configurations for fleet, retail and commercial applications.
  • BlueDEF is key to helping improve fuel economy by up to five percent while simultaneously reducing exhaust emissions.

I had zero issues using the product. I purchased the concentrated gallon of Dex-Cool and diluted it with water to a 50/50 concentration. After mixing the two together, I filled my radiator and filled the funnel. I then started my truck, cranked up the heat to high and waited. Throughout the process I periodically squeezed the upper radiator hose to help circulate the coolant and remove air bubbles. I continued to top off the coolant as it continued to disperse throughout the engine. Once I no longer saw any air bubbles in the coolant and the coolant leveled out, I topped off the reservoir and took it for a drive. No more leaks and runs great.

Take special caution when using coolants and the required vehicle type.

Comments about CARQUEST Oil & Fluids Cool Antifreeze/Coolant (1 Gallon):

I have previously used the product when doing a coolant flush and or when replacing parts that requires the removal of the coolant. I prefer mixing my own coolant to something other than a 50/50 mixture. Never have had any issues using this product.the jug comes easy to pour when the seal is removed properly. I used this in a vehicle that required six gallons of coolant. I use this vehicle everyday so I need a reliable product. Even for use on higher mileage vehicle without batting an eye.
