I recentally got a New Head an Valve Job,, So Synthetic is the way it will go from here on... CARQUEST seems to be good an cheaper than the rest... So I will continue to do oil changes every 4000 Miles instead of the usual 3000 I was prior.

Comments about CARQUEST Oil & Fluids 5W-20 Fully Synthetic Motor Oil (1 Quart):

I'm a big fan of synthetic oils! When I am driving one of my vehicles with the synthetic oils in it, I can feel, even ever so slightly, that the engine and drivetrain is running smoother than with conventional petroleum-based oils. I feel the vehicle is a little quieter, and it has less vibration in the driver's seat, steering wheel, and less in my ear drums too! And when I saw that Advanced has their own synthetic oil, I didn't hesitate to purchase. We'll be using it in our new SUV at the next oil change!

What is the recommended oil change interval, mileage and time? Is this specification documented anywhere?

            • CUSTOMER CARE

              A:

Hi Ron, good question! Oil change intervals can be as short as 3,000 miles or as long 15,000 miles on cars. It is always better to follow the oil and filter change frequencies shown in your owner's manual.

              A:

Synthetic and regular oil are both lubricants used to protect moving engine parts and clean the engine. Synthetic oils are artificially made from compounds other than crude oil, while regular oil is made from crude oil.

            • A:

When you change your car's engine oil you have a lot of choices, including the use of synthetic oil or conventional oil. Most wonder what the benefits are of using synthetic vs. conventional oil. And if it's really worth the money. Conventional motor oil is a lubricant that is derived directly from crude oil. It has excellent properties that allow it to provide lubrication at high temperatures, as well as maintaining its stability over long periods of time. Synthetic oil actually begins its life as conventional oil and is then modified to improve its protective and lubricant properties. Some blends of synthetic oil are designed specifically to increase the performance and life of high-mileage cars. Others are meant specifically for high-performance engines. Others actually have the ability to increase your car's fuel mileage by using special advanced lubricants.
