Excellent replacement pump for the money, better deal than rebuilt, comes with a gasket too! If replacing a reverse rotation water pump like I did, make sure the impeller blades are facing the same way as your old one visually by putting them side by side. My old water pump was a reverse flow and had an "R" stamped on the impeller and the Haynes manual said that a new one would too, however when I received this one and opened it there was not "R" anywhere, however after a visual side by side look they were exactly the same so I proceeded with the install and after testing it's good to go. Just letting everyone know that not all replacement reverse flow pumps will not all have an "R" on the impeller or casting per the manual. Good Product!

where can I purchase the for fan mounting screws that mount the fan to the pulley and what size bolts are they

              • CUSTOMER CARE

                A:

I'm happy to help, Don! It looks like you're purchasing this ToughOne Water Pump for your 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0L L6. That vehicle uses 4 fan hub-to-pump pulley studs and 4 fan blade-to-viscous drive bolts and 4 hub-to-pump pulley nuts. The fan bolts to the thermal viscous drive (clutch) and that bolts to the water pump pulley. The fan blade typically uses 5/16-18 x 3/4 bolts. The studs are also generally a 5/16" and the nut is 1/2".

A search on our website for the bolt size will yield multiple results such as Dorman Part No. 760-107N, 903-107 or 803-107. And something similar to Part No. 675-001 may work for your studs. I suggest purchasing a repair manual for your vehicle, Haynes Part No. 50025, for more detailed removal and installation instructions. The studs are also available For example, Part No. 675-001.

            • Q:

The GMB website says their water pump gaskets don't require a sealer. The generic instructions that came with the pump and gasket say to use a sealer. Should you use RTV or something similar, or install dry?

              • CUSTOMER CARE

                A:

Yes, using a sealant (RTV or similar) should help prevent the dreaded corroded/rusted mounting bolts. A dry gasket can be fairly easy to remove if it has not been assembled for a long time. For any further assistance please feel free to call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto store and one of our representatives will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.
