    Comments about CARQUEST Heater Core:

tubes not quite bent at the right angle. not an exact fit compared to stock, thinner. I would highly recommend a copper replacement core over this, it is almost like it's made of tinfoil. not looking forward to replacing this again in a year or two.

    Comments about CARQUEST Heater Core:

This is the main item needed for heat in this older truck. Truck has awesome engine, new tires, has had some other work done in it, but it is a keeper. Had to remove stuff under the hood, dash board and place it in the right spot. Time consuming, but just has to be done right. It's in, radiator is clean as well, and the heat works. It was a time consuming job, but completed correctly and in the right way.

Loosen and pull dash out before installing this. Do NOT handle by holding the tubes. Do NOT force. Pulling the dash out and up will give you room so that this slides right in.

          Comments about CARQUEST Heater Core:

Heater core not up to the standards of original:
Lightweight aluminum construction including tanks (end caps) and tubes where original was copper and brass. Tubes very soft and do not promise to have long life. While lifetime warrantee is good and advisable, installation in 1992 S-10 Blazer is a laborious job so product quality is most important.

            Comments about CARQUEST Heater Core:

No instructions or help from any manual on how to do this. Guy at the store couldn't help with instructions either. Guess you have to be a certified mechanic to install this. On a 93 Jimmy SLE this is a horrible install. More bolts than mentioned in the book at Advance, and I am now in the fourth hour of installation. At least it is back in. Now to try to put half the dash back together so that it doesn't rattle and fall back out. Also, didn't mention you have to destroy the foam rubber gasket ( which isn't carried ) to take the cover off. Good luck and with the patience of Job and lots of light you can do this without a sawsall.

                    Comments about CARQUEST Heater Core:

The heater core was an exact fit, installed as it should into the heater box and fit snugly in the vibration damping mounts.
I have made this repair before with a cheaper product and had to bend it some to get it to fit and this unit did not have that problem.
The day i needed it, i called several shops and Advanced Auto was the only store that had it in stock (for a 1991 S10, that's way cool)

                    Comments about CARQUEST Heater Core:

I am happy with the fit and it seems to be of good quality. Went in issue free on my 1993 s10 blazer. Ordered online and picked up at the store. I used a promo code which saved me some additional money as well. I looked at the spectra brand but this one seems better made, but time will tell. I just installed it today. I like dealing with advance especially from a price stand point. Good luck in repairing your car/truck and i would buy this part again.

For the location of the heater core on your particular vehicle, I suggest visiting your local Advance Auto Parts store and purchasing Haynes Repair Manual. The book will inform you of the exact location of the heater core, it will also direct you step by step with detailed instructions on how to replace any part on your vehicle.

Under the dash behind the glovebox. You have to remove the dash to access it along with many other electrical connectors etc... This job is reserved for a pro or an amatuer who has about 8 hours to do it and ya still might screw it up.
