My main concern with finding a GL-5 gear oil for use in my 1967 M35A2 (6x6 deuce and a half)'s transmission, transfer case, and 3 rockwell axles is the oil's compatability with yellow metal (bronze and copper) which is found in my old gearboxes. I had the Advance Auto Part's online chat assistant look into it for me, and after what I assumed to be some uncommon leg work on their end, I was informed that the gear oil did meet MT-1 specifications. That is what I needed and I appreciate the chat person running that one up the totem pole for me. Now my little 7 ton hobby truck has fresh gear oil in all the boxes. This fluid is economical and it works. Can't go wrong.

Comments about CARQUEST Grease and Lube Premium 80W-90 Gear Oil:

This is the second time that I have purchased this gear oil from Advance. The first time, I received a 5 gallon bucket that had Advance Auto's label on it and the part number was A135. This time when I went to the store to get my bucket of oil, I was given the bucket that is pictured online. This time I was given a 5 gallon bucket of Coastal gear oil. The part number on it is 12217.

They should be the same since they are both 80W-90 gear oil. Just don't be surprised if you show up and you are given something different than the picture of Coastal.

My rearend in my International dump truck had to be rebuilt and I needed new oil for it. It took almost 5 gallons so this bucket worked out great.

Definitely be buying more again in the future if I need it!

Exactly the oil I needed for the gearbox on my Massey Ferguson tractor. Was supposed to receive a coupon good on my next Advance Auto purchase over $50, but the coupon never arrived. No help at all from the store where I picked up my purchase.
