Comments about CARQUEST Fuel Pump Hanger Assembly:
My 1993 civic ex was having some issues starting. After some initial troubleshooting I found the problem to be gas not being injected to the sparks. I then heard that my fuel pump was spastic in activating once the hey was turned, so I decided to replace it. I don't know how old it was. After replacing that I found one of my fuses kept blowing. After replacing the main relay (which was the root cause of the issue) I was still having issues with the pump shorting out my fuse. When the pump was disconnected the fuse did not blow. After removing the new pump, I placed 13.5 V across the connector and it worked. I tried to reinstall it and again no luck. Fuse kept blowing. I went back to my older fuel pump (which also worked when a voltage was placed across it) and reinstalled that fuel pump. And, as you would guess, it worked. No fuses blowing, no issue starting the vehicle. So one new fuel pump and 5 fuses later, I'm back to my old fuel pump and only a new main relay.
