This product is a major part of your cooling system as it kicks the engine fan on at a set temperature and saves gas because it cuts off once cool and creates less stain on the motor . this Product is very easy to install and at a reasonable price .

This fan clutch seized solid after only 6 months. There was no noticable indication of a pending failure; no fluid was leaking from it, and it looked perfect from the outside. My application: 2001 Dodge Ram 5.9L. Daily driver.

              A:

Sounds like the fan clutch might be bad; however, with out the presence of your vehicle we would not be able to properly diagnose it nor provide you with a 100% answer. We would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not solve or be the problem.

            • A:

generally - any presence of oil leaking around the clutch fan -
and/or also if fans turns more than 3 times when you spin it (while clutch is cold) is a good indicator of a worn fan clutch.
You don't' have to be certified mechanic to sense these two indicators.
