After my Kawasaki STX-15F jetski sat for 3 years the fuel pump was done. I found a forum which said this fuel pump was a suitable substitute for the OEM pump. Installation was a breeze, but I had to crimp my own electrical connectors because the interface was different, I also had to cut the 3 rubber standoffs on the bottom of the rubber bushing that holds the fuel strainer onto the bottom of the pump. Other than that is has worked great so far. Next time I may go with the Walbro gs342 as it fits my Kawasaki as well. The retailmenot coupon code saved me a ton, I highly advise using the coupon code and purchasing online, then go to the store and pick it up!

Within 1 minute of replacing the fuel pump in the zero degree weather, the pump failed and I had to re-replace the pump. It was a waste of time to even think of buying this product unless you like working along the road on fuel pumps or enjoy riding in tow trucks!

Comments about CARQUEST Electric Fuel Pump:

As I fix my cars most of the time, it was easy to install for me but if you don't have experience about cars I would recommend going to a mechanic. The only problem with this fuel pump was that it was noisy but other than that there was no problem it was compatible with my car.

Comments about CARQUEST Electric Fuel Pump:

Yes, I hate electric fuel pumps, especially the in- tank type that just go out without warning. Which for me seems to be the case. This is my third vehicle to have one go bad. While the install in my Subaru was easy due to the fuel pump access plate the fuel pump was junk. It was defective right out of the box- sounded like a buzz saw gone bad and would not hold pressure-that's what my mechanic shop said. I had another airtek that did not last 6 months that also sounded like a buzz saw in a BII. Does not exceed OEM!!!!

Comments about CARQUEST Electric Fuel Pump:

Pump died after 2 weeks. New pump (free from warranty) is about to die after 2 weeks. Also, the optional strainer that fits this pump doesn't fit the factory bracket. You MUST cut off the pegs to make it fit. Buy a Bosch for $15-$20 more.

Comments about CARQUEST Electric Fuel Pump:

The pump itself seems to be working properly although the shape of the bottom of the pump and the gasket were different. They did not conform or fit properly with the housing securing clamp that held the pump in place. The gasket was to thick. It would not allow the bottom plastic holding piece that slides into the pump housing to fit in place. It prevent the pump from falling out of the pump housing/sending unit.I had to modify and use the old gasket to fit it in. The gasket needs to be changed so it fits properly it is to thick and the shape of the filter are not matching properly with this botom housing clamp piece.

                    A:

Hi QX1, I think you are referring to the loudness nature of this fuel pump. Apart from that, this fuel pump will fit perfectly and will provide a steady 50-55 PSI at idle, reverse and romping in low gears. So, if the sound of this pump didn't concern you, you can buy it for outstanding performance in multiple fuel blends.
