Airtex Pump with Airtex Strainer is too tall to fit in a 1993 Toyota Avalon. The strainer hits the bottom of the fuel tank and keeps the assembly from seating on the access hole. The plastic elbow on the strainer that attaches to the bottom of the pump is too thick. I made it work by putting another spacer between the pump bracket & the bottom of the pump, with a loosely tightened hose clamp to secure the pump to the bracket so it doesn't squeeze the pump too much.

Comments about CARQUEST Electric Fuel Pump:

Comes out easy. But getting the gas tank back in is tough. The bands on the gas tank are very hard to get back on. It does fit 99 Tacoma perfect. Im very upset because it wasn't the problem.

              Pros:
              1. Fit 1994 Toyota Corolla
              2. Easy and straight forward installation

              Cons:
Loud continuous hum/buzz that can be heard even from the outside of the car even after the rear seat is re-installed.

I may have received a defective unit and now I have to remove it and return it. I will not take a 2nd chance on another unit and will purchase another brand name.

Went in fine. Took only about 15 minutes to get the pump out, throw this one in, and close everything back up. Wasn't what the car ended up needing, but the pump worked anyway!

U shaped rubber bottom pad has three tabs that should be shaved off with a razor knife to allow the pad to sit flush in the metal mounting plate and prevent the pump from bouncing out of the mount on the attached rubber hose.

I had a P0171 code on my 2004 Celica. After looking for vacuum leaks I replaced the fuel pump with this pump. It fit perfect but did not include the OEM style seals so I reused the originals. The pump is VERY noisy. In the Celica the pump is located in the tank which is under the rear seat. You can hear and feel the pump. Even with the engine running you can hear the pump humming. So if your tank is located near the passenger compartment and noise bothers you, it may be best to try another pump.

had to slighlty shave the electrical connection as the plug is was to tight to fully fit.
Also had to cut off a little bit of the rubber seat that it sits in to get a good fit.
