Comments about CARQUEST CV Shafts New CV Axle Shaft Assembly:

This is listed as a universal fit, I should have listened to that little voice that said remove the ABS ring before you install it! I didn't!. If you don't have ABS on your vehicle remove the ABS ring BEFORE you install the axel shaft it will be much easier.

I installed the axel and had it two thirds back together before I realized that it was binding. I removed the outboard end of the axel shaft and quickly discovered a lack of clearance on my car to swing a hammer to knock the ABS ring off the end of the shaft. I used a dremel tool to partially cut the ring and then split it with a hammer and screwdriver. The ring then tapped off easily. Once reassembled, everything was as it should be. If you use a dremel or a chisel, be careful not to damage the end of the axel shaft. Insure any metal filings are cleaned from the splines before assembly.

Comments about CARQUEST CV Shafts New CV Axle Shaft Assembly:

This axle was designed for models with ABS. In order for it to fit my non-ABS car, I had to remove the notched ABS ring from the outer CV joint. That was just a matter of tapping it off with a hammer. After that, the axle is working great.

Comments about CARQUEST CV Shafts New CV Axle Shaft Assembly:

This product states it fits cars w/o ABS. That could be further from the truth...Tried this on a 96 Tercel w/o ABS, guess what? The gears or sprockets for the ABS rubs against the rotors causing a grinding sound...Had to get a correct one from a competitor. A simple 2hr job became a 4hr headache..

Advanced and GSP should do research and not generalize that one size fits all!! There is a reason why they make parts with ABS, or w/o ABS...

            A:

Yes, this part fits your 1995 Toyota Tercel, but I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.
