All CARQUEST axles have a new zinc dichromate plated nut or attaching hardware. CV joint grease has a high moly content. The boot bands are made from stainless steel, and the boots are manufactured to resist wear and damage due to extreme high and low temperatures.

    Comments about CARQUEST CV Shafts New CV Axle Shaft Assembly:

    Installed in 1998 Toyota Rav4. Installation OK until found out that the inner seal was bad. So had to pull out to change seal and found the slot or lip was only 2/32 deep and not 5/32 like OEM. Very hard to pull out to change the seal. Axle seems to be working fine but only 100 miles on it and new seal. Best to replace seal with new axle.

        The threads of the screw were poorly made so the axle could not get into the wheel hub.

        Had to put back the old part. Wasted so much time...
