Not an exact fit

Comments about CARQUEST CV Shafts New CV Axle Shaft Assembly:

I bought one of these to replace the LH one on my 4WD 2006 Tacoma. After removing my original one and comparing lengths it was obvious that this one was about an inch short. I took it back and had a discussion with the guys there and the best they could tell me was that this was the part that their computer said was compatible with my truck. I ended up installing them and have out about 2000 miles on them. My conclusion is that yes they will work but I wouldn't buy them over again if I had the chance. They have a sloppy fit into the differential and sometimes make a pop or click when making tight turns. My suggestion is find a better after market product.

Comments about CARQUEST CV Shafts New CV Axle Shaft Assembly:

Very good considering the price. I had to file the splines as they where not machined perfectly enough to go into the transmission during install. Also the dust shield, which is very thin metal, was bent on both replacements I bought. These where both easy to repair problems, and considering the price not a big deal.

Comments about CARQUEST CV Shafts New CV Axle Shaft Assembly:

The 2 CV assemblies arrived quickly and in good condition . Though for Toyota Tacoma 4x4 beware these were the wrong parts that were listed to fit. The whole assembly is 1" shorter . So if installed correctly they appear fine though if you let the factory stock suspension travel fully the joints will pull out of the sockets and be free inside the boot.
So if you were driving and the suspension traveled and came back down they would crush..
Long story short. WRONG PARTS ! Thanks advance for wasting my whole day ...

Comments about CARQUEST CV Shafts New CV Axle Shaft Assembly:

This part did fit my application, but not for long! It exploded into several pieces after only a few miles. It was installed by myself and two mechanics. It is cheap and worthless. You get what you pay for and this thing is bottom dollar.
