Description shows that these are exact match for a 2007 Subaru Outback. They are not! They are too long for the application and will cause significant vibration when accelerating, especially hard acceleration from a stop. The problem is they are too long and once installed the joints do not have enough play in them. It is not readily apparent that the length is wrong when installing. The local Subaru dealer tells me they see these issues with aftermarket axles constantly. Either reboot your original axles or go with genuine Subaru axles. That is unless you enjoy repeatedly tearing the front end apart and/or have money to throw away.

Don't waste your time

Comments about CARQUEST CV Shafts New CV Axle Shaft Assembly:

First two were easy to put in but lasted about 6k miles total, last one wouldn't seat right in the tranny and immediately started grinding. 3 axles in 6k miles is pathetic. Reboot the oem one or buy another oem one.

Comments about CARQUEST CV Shafts New CV Axle Shaft Assembly:

The boots are cheap and split on the seals. I've had three split on install and two after less then 10,000 miles. Right down the seals.

Comments about CARQUEST CV Shafts New CV Axle Shaft Assembly:

I was out of town and needed a new CV axle assy ASAP for my 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX. I got this part from Advance and had it installed at a nearby shop that day. It fits and works fine for steady driving, however there are consistent and repeatable heavy vibrations upon acceleration. I would not recommend keeping this in the car long term as the vibrations are going to eventually cause other issues. After about 3 weeks, I replaced it with a genuine OEM Subaru part and the vibrations disappeared instantly.

Had this put on the passenger side of my 2007 Subaru Legacy. One week later, it disengaged, was ruined, and left shrapnel in my transmission. Aparently this has been happening in other Subarus as well, the axle is about 1/4 inch too short. If you have a Sub- don't use this!

these axles do fit my 2007 Subaru Outback. i don't know why these other folks are having issues. i do still have an issue with them though.

two replacements later the passenger side fails after less then a year. it's likely caused by the design of the catalytic converter being directly beneath the inner passenger cv boot. I've thought about trying to install a heat shield but don't really see any mounting points down there. at least the warranty is honored year after year. otherwise i'd be stuck buying new ones every time.

Despite many complaints for this CV axle, I don't have problem with them. Both front CV axles have been replaced. One was replaced three months ago, already 2,500 miles on it, and the other one just replaced. My car runs and idles smooth so far.

                      A:

No, I am sorry. The ToughOne CV Axle Assembly - Part No. NCV66002 is not an exact fit for the passenger side on your 1996 Hyundai Elantra GLS. Unfortunately we do not have a compatible axle assembly for your vehicle available online. However I would recommend that you check with the nearest Advance Auto store or call us toll free at: 1-877-238-2623 and one of our representatives will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.
