Q:Would this axle fit on a vehicle that is an automatic transmission. As there is no specific part number listed for it, the only option showing is this one for a manual transmission. My vehicle is automastic.
A:Hi Dora! If you can tell me your vehicle's year, make, and model, I can suggest parts available for that vehicle.
Q:On the new axle the side that goes into the transmission has a brass ring on the end of it. which way does this ring face. concave side in toward the trans or concave side out facing the wheel. the new axle leaks auto trans fluid and I think that it is the orientation of this ring that makes the diff between leaking or not. Does any one know the proper direction for this ring.
A:For step by step instructions i recommend that you go to your nearest Advance Auto Parts store and purchase a repair manual.
Q:Old axle grinded when driving. I installed a new one about 6 months ago, its starting grind again. Dont Beat on the car, just normal commutes. Would you suggest defective axle, or worn spider gear in transmission?
