All CARQUEST axles have a new zinc dichromate plated nut or attaching hardware. CV joint grease has a high moly content. The boot bands are made from stainless steel, and the boots are manufactured to resist wear and damage due to extreme high and low temperatures.

During mild dirt road use and stock tire size, I have broken two of these shafts. Will never buy again. I'm sure they'll be fine in vehicles that see pavement only, but for me I will go back to using OEM shafts with better steel. Crazy how easily these things broke one after the other. Although they were inexpensive and fit perfectly.
