Comments about CARQUEST CV Shafts New CV Axle Shaft Assembly:

Couldnt get an xle for a w126 so I used a w123 axle looked the same and it fit also, My original is the one piece so I had to go into the differential to remove and install the new one. The new axle is the two piece that has the six bolts that allowes separation. I did drill and safetywire the bolts as there are reports of them coming out.

Comments about CARQUEST CV Shafts New CV Axle Shaft Assembly:

Everything was fine except that I had to remove the 2 shims where the axles mate to the differential. I had to do this in order for the axle to fit inside the differential enough for the retaining clips to be installed. The grooves in the new axle were not exposed enough to get the clips in until I removed the shims. All seems fine, but I would rather not remove parts from my car to get things fitted up. I'm hoping all is ok. I could not afford German made replacement axles, so I had to go with these.

I didn't even see the 2 axles that I bought but my mechanic RAVED about the axles. And they were a great deal.

Comments about CARQUEST CV Shafts New CV Axle Shaft Assembly:

I bought two for my 300d and in two months they came completely apart. The screws that hold the axle together came loose and thus the axles seperated requiring a tow back home. To fix the issue take the screws out, clean and use loctite red with lock washers. This is how they should have been assembled.
