CV Axle shaft wouldn't fit

Comments about CARQUEST CV Shafts New CV Axle Shaft Assembly:

This CV axle shaft is offered at a great price (about $65), since an OE shaft is over $200, but it would not fit onto the transmission intermediate shaft. I re-installed the old part, it started and locked in fine. Got a rebuilt shaft from another suppplier, that one also fit fine. Maybe the spline machining on this shaft is slightly off, but it just wouldn't fit. Application is a 2003 Honda Pilot, passenger front side axle.
