All CARQUEST axles have a new zinc dichromate plated nut or attaching hardware. CV joint grease has a high moly content. The boot bands are made from stainless steel, and the boots are manufactured to resist wear and damage due to extreme high and low temperatures.

      hard to get to fit. once in, the cv bearing failed within 6 months. Now I have to spend the afternoon removing and replacing yet again

      I HAVE NEVER ATTEMPTED TO DO A CV SHAFT REPLACEMENT BEFORE. THANKS TO SOME ON LINE VIDEOS, I WAS ABLE TO COMPLETE THIS JOB, WITH RELATIVE EASE. THE PRICE WAS RIGHT, AND THEY SEEM TO BE A QUALITY REPLACEMENT. NO ISSUES SO FAR

      While the shaft fit ok, it was missing the vibration damper that suppresses shaft oscillations. Since this is included on the original part, I expect to see it on this replacement.

      Not so Happy. Within 100 miles its leaking grease out through the clamp on the outer cv boot when you drive. Its makin quite the mess. The joys of doin things twice!
