Comments about CARQUEST CV Shafts New CV Axle Shaft Assembly:

I have never installed cv axles before but I thought I would give it a try. The job took a little longer than expected but I did get everything done on my daughters 1996 accord. I had trouble getting the left side in so I removed the retaining clip. I will be retaking it apart so that I can put that clip back in. I will just try to squeeze the clip so it is a little tighter.

Comments about CARQUEST CV Shafts New CV Axle Shaft Assembly:

People should not post reviews that haven't actually used the product. Buying the wrong item is an issue of your own competence (or lack thereof), not an issue of part quality, as a negative review would suggest. The part itself is in fact of fair quality as even a cursory visual inspection would suggest. Beyond that there's not a whole lot to say about a driveaxle, aside from the fact that it comes with all the parts needed for part replacement. Functionality is what you would anticipate, functional, including the ABS which I made sure to test. All together when you factor in the price it can't be beat.

It did not fit my 97 Acura, while it says it will. Had to pay my mechanic for nothing.

I would like to buy 2 of these for my 97 Acura 3.0 CL but I see a bad review. Was there a problem and now it was resolved? Or do I still have to be concerned that I will have to return them?

Yes, this part fits your 1997 Acura CL and it will be the best direct fit axle assembly for your vehicle.

Like another reviewer, this did not fit a customer's 1998 Acrua CL 3.0L w/Automatic trans that was in my shop. The spline count should be 27 on the transmission side. This axle had 29 and is too big.
