All CARQUEST axles have a new zinc dichromate plated nut or attaching hardware. CV joint grease has a high moly content. The boot bands are made from stainless steel, and the boots are manufactured to resist wear and damage due to extreme high and low temperatures.

        The axles comes with a packet of grease. The boots are already on and clamped, and there's nothing that I'm aware of during the installation that would require extra grease. Why is this here? Am I somehow supposed to remove the boots? Or is this just put in all their axles, but some vehicles don't require it?

          According to GSP, the extra packet of grease is to coat the spline that goes into the transmission.
