All CARQUEST axles have a new zinc dichromate plated nut or attaching hardware. CV joint grease has a high moly content. The boot bands are made from stainless steel, and the boots are manufactured to resist wear and damage due to extreme high and low temperatures.

    Is the end that bolts in to the transmission 4inches in dia.?

      Hello Hendo I will be more than happy to help. Yes the end that goes into the transmission is the bigger end and the end that goes through the wheel hub assembly has the nut on the end of it. Always remember to torque the axle nut to the manufacturer specifications.

    Do you have to put the grease that comes with it inside the boot or does it come pre greased.

      Great question, Sean! Some axles require you to add grease to the CV joints. This is generally due to design and shipping. Any open boots will most likely require grease.
