Comments about CARQUEST CV Shafts New CV Axle Shaft Assembly:

Hub is made of low quality metal. Bearing itself was very tight and did not rotate properly. Put in car against my better judgment. Binds and makes noise. will need to remove and return for a second time. First time they gave me the wrong side....

Comments about CARQUEST CV Shafts New CV Axle Shaft Assembly:

Install was a breeze. Replaced this part on my '03 VW Passat 1.8T. Had the bad part out and the new part installed in less than 20 minutes. You will need a 10mm 12-star driver and a 17mm hex drive socket if you are replacing the stock assembly.

            A:

Use a torque wrench to tighten the ball joint and hub nut - never an impact wrench. Install new cotter pins and lock nuts if used. Most manufacturers also recommend replacing any suspension nuts that were removed with new fasteners.
