just follow most of what has already posted, we had a small problem getting one of the tie rod bolts to tighten up by hand but then used the impact wrench and it started to tighten up so then we used socket to finish tighten it up. also dont forget to buy a few extra cotter pins as they dont come with the axles and on a 2007 dodge sxt caravan you need a 32mm socket for the axle nut. also my toruqe wrench only went up tp 150 and specs. are for 180 but we got it close enough as i am sure they werent even close to 180 from the factory as they came loose very easy. i had my son in law helping me and things went alot easier than if i had to do it by myself. took us about 4 hrs from start to finish and we used jack stands to hold up the van. the passenger side axle was a little different from the orig. shaft that didnt matter any. good luck and dont be afraid of doing this yourself.also you need to put the car in netruel so you can rotate the axle shaft when trying to pop the safe loose. Will follow up down the line to give a update on how long they last or give any problems

Almost Fits.

Has anyone else had this problem? Shaft with splines that slips through wheel bearing 3/16 too long resulting in offset of ABS sensor and nut that holds on wheel. That concerns me.

Comments about CARQUEST CV Shafts New CV Axle Shaft Assembly:

Replacement was easy. Was up and running in 2 hours. Easy to install. Good quality rebuild. We will see how long it lasts. I have used these in the past and have had no problems. I ordered on line and picked up in the store with a significant discount. Be careful not to pry on the transmission housing when pulling the old shaft out, you run the risk of cracking the transmission case, that would ruin your day. Had a little trouble installing the new shaft in a 2007 Dodge caravan, but it had to be held just right. I also installed a new output shaft seal.

The retaining clip seemed like it was not formed all the way. Had way too much over hang. I was luckily able to reuse the old one from old axle shaft. Then it went in like a breeze.

Comments about CARQUEST CV Shafts New CV Axle Shaft Assembly:

Installation was difficult, the snap ring provided has square edges and would not compress enough to allow insertion. The OEM ring has rounded edges which aid in installation. I put the old snap ring on the new CV and it slid right in. The hole for the cotter pin was a little small. Luckily I had one that would fit. For the price I paid I was happy.

The wheel end threads were about 1/2" longer than the OEM shaft so the cotter pin did not engage. Still worked OK.

I installed the pass side axle in a 2001 caravan ,pretty easy job. disconnect the strut at the bottom , and the tie rod end. pop the old axel at the tranny and pull it out , have a catch pan ready , as you will loose some tranny oil . slip the new axel in till it clicks in the tranny . reattach the strut and tie rod end . refill tranny oil. This axel is new , not remaned so there is no core charge.Dont forget to check the lower ball joint while everything is open , gerase all fittings. This job took about two hours .

It would be the logical thing to do but I've replaced the right side only, 2 times already in 12 years that i've own my caravan and the original from Chrysler is still on the left side so I'd say it's up to you.....
