Needed to replace the CV axle when the CV boot was destroyed, while changing the original shocks on the truck. The old CV boot was brittle. Any way loved the way these were built but couldn't get it to collapse in order for it to fit into the necessary area. The area from hub to CV transaxle was 20.5 inches and the CV axle I could only get it to go to 22 inches. 1.5 inches to long. Had to return and find another replacement.

Exact fit for 2000 Ford Expedition 4x4. Straight forward install by unbolting the stabilizer bar and rotating out of the way for room to slide drive shalt out of the hub. Product quality looks good and reinstall was also straight forward.

Comments about CARQUEST CV Shafts New CV Axle Shaft Assembly:

I bought a pair of these to replace the OEM shafts due to outer CV joins going bad. No I have no crunch while turning but horrible vibration and knocking at speed in a straight line. Mechanic took a look and said the inboard joints are bad. So now I have to pay loabor again. Not a happy camper.

Takes some manipulation to "squeeze" into position, but fits and aligns well, meets all my requirements nicely. Be sure to check new retaining nut size, the OEM is 35mm, the replacement is 36 mm. Don't leave the store without the correct socket in hand !
