Comments about CARQUEST CV Shafts New CV Axle Shaft Assembly:

Fit as expected, price is low enough that no core charge works for me. Boots seem to be of good quality, splines were straight and in good condition, something that I've had problems with in the past with CV Axles from other companies. It was the same size as the OEM one in my 2003 Chevy Trailblazer, not sure about the other models.

Ordered these on line but they were not in stock locally. However, ordered on a Friday and they were at my shop the following Monday! These were of very high quality and a perfect factory match. Installed very easily and are performing flawlessly.

Comments about CARQUEST CV Shafts New CV Axle Shaft Assembly:

I used this CV axel to replace a damaged axle on my 2002 Trailblazer EXT 4x4. The axle appears to be as strong as the OEM axles. I have put around 5,000 miles on this one with no problems so far. Installation was not too difficult either. The only thing I didn't like was the included nut didn't have a built in washer like the OEM nut. I wound up reusing the old nut on the new axle--something I would rather not do but I had no choice.

Overall I would recommend this axle. The boot is still in great shape and the axle is solid with no noises.

The boot at the end of the axle does not have enough slack and busts after less than 2,000 miles.

How do I remove the inner cv from the differential ?

              • CUSTOMER CARE

                A:

Happy to answer your question Bernie! If the Inner CV is ceased inside the differential you may want to use PB Blaster Part No 16-PB. Let it soak in and you can use a pry bar, there are some notches on the body of the inner CV for that purpose. EXERCISE EXTREME CARE when hitting the pry bar; be sure to use protective eye wear. If you are not comfortable with a pry bar and hammer I suggest a certified mechanic.
