Great price and for a new product instead of rebuilt. No core to return. Installed as expected and fit exactly as supposed to. I would definitely recommend this product for the Chevy or Gmc application that it is intended for. Ours was an 1995 GMC Yukon with 180 thousand miles on it. Test drove it and tried four wheel drive and everything worked as expected. Using Advance Auto Parts online ordering system with their available discount code is always the best way to buy.

Both shafts arrived with the grease shields popped out. The corrugation of the boots was very different than the OEM boots and didn't appear to have the angular flexibility of the originals. Fewer and less defined corrugations. Shortly after installation I noticed a slight repetative thump in the steering when backing up while turning hard. I believe the geometry of the CV joints is wrong. Now about three months later, I have found one of the outer end boots badly ripped and the other outer boot wadded up, so it will soon be torn. These axles are simply very poor quality in materials and design. Typical Chinese knock offs

Comments about CARQUEST CV Shafts New CV Axle Shaft Assembly:

Looked very similar to the OEM axle, except for the toothed ring on the outer CV joint. There was a clearance issue with the ring slightly touching the bottom ball joint! I removed the ring because the OEM didn't have it. With the ring removed it fit just fine and mounted really easy! This was on a 1999 K 1500 Suburban. I also have a 1994 K1500 Suburban which this part was identical with the ring. Somewhere between those years GM changed the design. Make sure to test fit it for clearance issues before bolting it up.

Comments about CARQUEST CV Shafts New CV Axle Shaft Assembly:

For a major component, this is a fairly easy job. The stabilizer link kit must be removed, so check you ma do well to check yours out before starting the job. May need to replace it too. The ABS rings are a pain in the neck. Be careful to not damage the axle if you have to remove them.

The product was the correct item that was describe it was easy to put in if you know how just didn't like all the grease on it but I know it's suppose to be some in it but not all over it, that just meant that the product was tossed around quite a bit. I would still recommend this to anyone.

The only issue was the ring for the ABS which people say they use cut off tool. I just used a hammer and knocked it off. Then it slid right in. Job was done within an hour using air tools. Only took out bottom shock bolt which gave enough room to remove it.

Good price for *almost* bolt in and go convenience. You will need to cut the tone ring off with a cut off wheel or air chisel depending on application. Watch for the seal sleeve to be flush with the outer housing or the outer shaft will drag on the front inside hub seal when tightened. I could barely turn my hub until I noticed a 1/4" gap on the seal sleeve. Had to remove and tap flush with a brass drift for it to work 100%. Double work is a pain.

On a K1500 truck, you may need to remove the sway bar endlink. They are tight but usually the inner joint will rotate down and the entire shaft will drop out between in lower control arm.
