Comments about CARQUEST Clutch TECHnovation Clutch Master Cylinder:

This part is not an "exact fit" for my 96 tacoma 2.7. The part where the pushrod meets the pedal does not go through the firewall like the original, so you have to remove that and replace it after the cylinder is installed from the compartment, or use the original. MORE IMPORTANTLY: The pushrod bolt is not long enough, so when I adjusted the pedal to proper height the pushrod popped out of the threads. Until I have time to weld on extra nuts to the part that attaches to the pushrod I have to stand on the clutch to shift with out grinding, and the pushrod is held by 1.5 turns of thread (barely).

I got this as a temporary fix, they are not supposed to last too long. I hope mine dies within a year so I get my money back. I am keeping the original until I can hone and rebuild it for the same price as this part, which will probably give me better use.

I would not buy this part as a long term fix, buying the OEM version is better in the long run considering how long each lasts and the replacement time.

I would request that this part is discontinued, but it lets DIYers like me get to work the next day without breaking the bank.
