Comments about CARQUEST Clutch TECHnovation Clutch Master Cylinder:

I found the instruction sheet confusing, and so just used my Haynes manual which was much clearer.

A list of required tools would have been nice.

I didn't ask at the store about returning the core for a partial refund, and it wasn't mentioned to me. Is there a core credit available for this part?

  • Q:

I replaced both my master and slave cylinders apprx 4months ago. The bracket (brass-looking fork that screws onto bolt that comes thru firewall) that attaches the master cylinder 'piston' to the clutch pedal has worn out already! It has a plastic bushing on the inside (that are wrapped by the metal exterior) that have bent apprx 20-30degrees over time and now I cannot depress the clutch pedal far enough to disengage the clutch. I have already tried adjust the lenght of the master bolt by screwing it in further/shorter to see if that will go.
From the original install, it seemed like the bolt wasn't really long enough--I was only able to screw the bolt into the bracket apprx 0.25-.50" and then bring the locking-nut up all the way.
Where/how can I buy just the bracket and not the whole master cylider kit?

it would be easier to answer your question if i knew the exact year, make, model, and engine size of your car. Its just too general a question with too maqny possible answers/
