Check Vehicle Fit

Flywheel hot spots can cause chatter. Resurfacing a flywheel doesn't always remove hot spots. The flywheel may look shiny and pretty, but the hot spots will often still be there. Service the System™ by replacing the flywheel and the clutch set at the same time. All flywheels come with a new ring gear.

hi, i bought this item and the clutch kit for my 2000 ford mustang v6 3.8 engine. When i finish changing all the new parts, i turned on the car and the engine was shakign. It shakes when idle or runnign and it wasnt before. So my cuestion is the right flywheel for my car coz someone toldme that ford changed from externally balanced to internally balanced flywheel in mid 2000.

You have ordered the correct flywheel for your vehicle. I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis.

About halfway through 2000 the 3.8l engine swapped between an internally and externally balanced rotating assembly. Check the date you car was made on the white sticker on the drivers door pillar. Also look at your harmonic balancer and see if it is smooth all the way around, or have a half-moon shape to it. Smooth is internal, half-moon is external.

Replacing clutch and flywheel at the same time is recommended. I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.
