Flywheel hot spots can cause chatter. Resurfacing a flywheel doesn't always remove hot spots. The flywheel may look shiny and pretty, but the hot spots will often still be there. Service the System by replacing the flywheel and the clutch set at the same time. All flywheels come with a new ring gear.

  • Q:

I have a clutch and pressure plate for a 95 mustang GT. Its 10.5 inch clutch. Will it work on this Flywheel? I'm putting it in a 67 289 Cougar with a T-5 from a 3.8L 97 Mustang with v6 bell and input. The 97 Stang is a 164 tooth flywheel. I had bought a 157 tooth with this clutch. Now I have starter issues.

      A:

Sorry, Dude. Without physical inspection, we are unable to tell that your clutch and pressure plate will work fine on this Flywheel. I would suggest that you take your vehicle and get it thoroughly checked by a certified mechanic before buying any parts that may/may not solve the problem.
