Comments about CARQUEST Clutch New Clutch Set:

Website claims it to fit in 1987 Base Wrangler. It's incorrect. Clutch slave cylinder does not match up.

Comments about CARQUEST Clutch New Clutch Set:

Like my eldest son says " A Jeep is not for transportation, it's a hobby". I also replaced the clutch in a previous '87 YJ. He now has that one. This time it went more smoothly. I would recommend pulling the engine vs. dropping the skid plate and pulling the tranny. That's what I did this time. Made the job faster and 'much easier'. I also resurfaced the flywheel last time. New flywheel is worth the [$].

Comments about CARQUEST Clutch New Clutch Set:

Bought this kit and the box was in rough shape. Looked at the parts with the salesman and decided to take it. Got home and was trying to install it with my mechanic only to blow 2 release bearings. Upon further inspection, turns out the clutch that was packed was for an earlier model and switched in the box. I'm out 8 hrs labour at the shop and still no Jeep. Will be visiting the store in a couple days to see what they have to say. I live about 450 miles from the store!
