Comments about CARQUEST Caps and Stats Thermostat, 190 Degrees Fahrenheit:

This part is an exact fit for my 2007 Envoy SLE. GMC should make their engine design team personally come to your home to replace the thermostat when they go bad. Very difficult to access. Rigid A/C line centered right on the bottom bolt to remove the alternator. Could not get a socket on it. A ratcheting 15mm box end wrench would have greatly sped up the process. Can't complain about the part at all. Very happy with the purchase. It just should not be this difficult to change out a simple thermostat. Clocked in at almost 3 hours due to poor GMC engine design.

Removed alternator to get to it...worked

Comments about CARQUEST Caps and Stats Thermostat, 190 Degrees Fahrenheit:

Had replaced this before. This time I also replaced the temp sender and was glad I did although it's slow to get out/in. My scan tool showed an increase from around 188 degrees to around 210 after replacing both. I removed the alternator to get to it. Some people access it thru the wheel well but since I opted to do the temp sender I came in from the top. My 10 yr old son helped me and we took our time and cleaned the throttle body, replaced the stat and temp sender and it took 3 hours.

I bought your Stant Thermostat, part # 14659 for my 2004 Chevrolet trailblazer. The problem is that the part does not fit, its not the same shape and the part in the truck now. I have doubled checked and the part number is correct. The one I bought from you has a slight offset to it and the one I need is much more of an "L" shape.

Any liquid-cooled car engine has a small device called the thermostat that sits between the engine and the radiator. The thermostat in most cars is about 2 inches (5 cm) in diameter.
