Comments about CARQUEST Caps and Stats Thermostat, 185 Degrees Fahrenheit:

Installed on a 2007 Malibumaxx 3.5 V6. Took a couple of cycles to get dialed in. Seems to be preset to open 5 degrees lower than factory, which is great for Miami's summer heat. Make sure to clean thoroughly the thermostat housing. I used 320 sandpaper and washed it thoroughly. Take time after you are done to get rid of the trapped air ('gurgle'), otherwise it will overheat.

Comments about CARQUEST Caps and Stats Thermostat, 185 Degrees Fahrenheit:

Impala with the "Engine Hot A/C off" display in the DIC. temp gauge not registering anything. and a P0128.

This little doohickey and an ECT sensor took care of it.

Drained fluid (only a few months old), set aside. pulled Neg off of the battery. switched out the thermostat, taking care to not screw up the O ring... careful removing the thermostat housing from the underside... there will be some coolant in there even with the radiator drained.

popped in the new ECT sensor while the coolant lines were empty, reused the coolant, hooked up the battery and problem solved.

The required gasket comes with the thermostat. No other purchase is necessary with exception of the Dex coolant.

              A:

The thermostat is located on the hose coming from the radiator on the driver side of the engine directly under the intake.

              A:

The thermostat should be located just inboard of the water pump, at the end of the lower radiator hose.
