Comments about CARQUEST Caps and Stats Thermostat, 180 Degrees Fahrenheit:

purchased at the store...doesn't seat properly into seat rim on a 2002 Hyundai Elantra; the part doesn't appear defective, just not to the right tolerances. Thought I would have to return it, as installation was a bear; my gasket seal did not come with an adhesive side as I was using gasket silicone / I was only able to get the thermostat to stay in place by siliconing it into place before replacing housing, a whole extra step. If you end up with this part I recommend an adhesive backed gasket would be easiest for the install.

                      A:

Hi Robert, good question! This Stant Thermostat is located on the drivers side of the engine, just follow the radiator hose connects to the engine. The problem with your vehicle really may need a mechanic's expertise to determine. However, without presence of your vehicle we would not be able to properly diagnose it nor provide you with a 100% answer. We would suggest that you take your vehicle to a certified mechanic for further diagnosis.

The vehicle year, make, model, and engine size is needed to determine the location of the thermostat.

On the 2003 tiburon 4 cyl follow the top radiator hose back to the engine. The end of the top hose connects to the thermostat housing. Pull off plastic cover to expose 2 bolts that will remove the housing so you can replace the thermostat.
