Comments about CARQUEST Caps and Stats Thermostat, 180 Degrees Fahrenheit:

The thermostat is not an OEM but the difference is relatively small. This one has a pin hole to relieve pressure and the OEM thermostat had a little ball. I could not locate any reported problems with the different design. (The big problem is the car itself - removing, moving and reaching under all the other parts to get at the thermostat! This is not a problem that can be resolved easily on this vehicle but certainly not any kind of reflection on the product itself or on Advanced Auto.)

Comments about CARQUEST Caps and Stats Thermostat, 180 Degrees Fahrenheit:

My vehicle overheated on the highway and thought a new thermostat might be a quick fix. I ended up replacing the radiator but didn't want to go there, unless I had to. Everything has been installed and the truck is running fine. I replaced the thermostat, O-ring, and radiator. I tried to get away with just the thermostat and O-ring but the radiator was leaking once it was re-hydrated. I ended up draining all the anti- freeze/coolant out and replaced the radiator. System is basically all new and the truck is running great.

Comments about CARQUEST Caps and Stats Thermostat, 180 Degrees Fahrenheit:

Bought this thinking it would be exact to OEM Specs. Super light in weight compared to OEM. OEM looks more durable, better craftsmanship. Sorry dont have the brand for the OEM.

Hi Russ, great question! I researched and found that this thermostat does not include gaskets with it.
