Comments about CARQUEST Caps and Stats Radiator Cap Lev-R-Vent:

Purchased this when I replaced my radiator for my 2003 Chevrolet S-10 RWD V6 4.3L auto. Fits perfectly on Part No. 431405. I really like the lever on it. Ever need to take the cap off but you aren't quite sure if it's still so hot that steam will shoot out? Well, with this cap, the lever changes all that. Just let it cool to where you think it's within a safe temperature, pop the lever open and it releases the steam and pressure so you don't get those nasty steam burns! Great product, I love it.

If you do it yourself alot (to save money) then a part like this is great. Although not supposed to use lever for bleed off...it is great replacement for after flushing your coolant system and in the process of refilling.

Will this cap work for an "open" cooling system?
Meaning when the pressure gets too high, it dumps coolant to the ground. It's a 1970 firebird 6.6 liter 400 cid. It's an open system. I was told I would need the stant #10329 or #11329 13psi cap for the open system, but your online search inquiry leads me to this part #10330, or 11330. Which would I need for an "open" cooling system?
