Nice gas cap, works as it says. Fits on my 2000 buick. How ever ,did not fix the gas cap light on dash. Still on after intalling and disconnect the battary to re set codes. The old one was cracked rubber so it awas needing it anyway. This car quest gas cap is cheaper then other stores, but that said it has no teather on or a way to install the old one. I would pay more if it hada theather on it.Even put a light coating of oil on the rubber to help seal and to see if it was making and good seal, seams good. would by other one if I need forother cars/trucks.

                    A:

Hi Lil Debbie, glad to help you! There is a plastic piece that rotates out of position and causes the problem. Try locking the cap again and then pressing in firmly as you rotate the cap very slowly. Sometimes you have to get one side free and then the other. Try pulling out on one side while you rotate. Keep playing with it and you'll get it off. You will need to replace the cap when you do. You can rotate the white plastic piece back around to line up with the metal ears but it will rotate out of place again.
