Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Timing Belt:

I suppose the quality of the belt is fine, but replacing it on a Kia Spectra 5 is more than a bit beyond my tools and skills. It's behind at least two other belts, and there's an engine mount that goes THROUGH the belt, so you have to hold the engine somehow while you're taking the belt off. You'll need a pulley puller to get it loose from the crankshaft, and all the tensioning adjustments for the other belts are hard to both reach and determine if they are properly set.

I'm not saying don't tackle this project, but if you decide to do it, be prepared for several hours of work. I finally gave up and took it to a pro.

          A:

Replacing the timing belt depends on the skill level of whoever is removing or replacing the part. Some may have a harder time than others who have experience. I would recommend purchasing a Haynes repair manual specifically for your vehicle. This should be able to assist you further into detail on how to repair or replace specific parts. For further assistance, please call us at 1-877-ADVANCE (238-2623) and we would be more than happy to assist you.
