Great place to shop. Staff is friendly and helpful if you have questions. Drove 140 miles R/T to get the part from them instead of buying it locally.

Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Poly Rib Belt:

Dayco makes all or most of the drive belts for GM which says a lot. I would not buy any other belt. I replace the factory belt that had 85K and the only problem I saw was some slight pilling and wear which is normal.

Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Poly Rib Belt:

An easy replacement, relatively speaking. Getting to the belt can be challenging, but the actual changeover was easy. It quieted an annoying belt squeak which made the Mrs very happy. It replaced an OEM part with 110,000 miles on it and very little life left which made me happy. A win-win. Buy quality and you never have to look back.

Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Poly Rib Belt:

Although the belt size shown (K060935) is not listed for my stock 2003 Mercury Marauder, it fits very well. I opted to seek out the K060935HD (Green Commercial Heavy duty) or the K060935RB (Blue Racing Belt) since I wanted a more durable item. I'm a bit aggressive driver on weekends at the drag strip.
I had used the Racing Belt and it worked wonderfully! Has lasted a long time, about eight years and 60k miles, on my daily driven car.

I would highly recommend this option if you are searching for a great product and would buy again!

How often do you replace a serpentine belt? I have 140,000 on this vehicle and am not sure if it's been changed.

                      A:

Hi Stacey, glad to assist you! A serpentine belt should stick with you for an average of 60,000 to 100,000 miles. However, some belts are manually tensioned and may need to be adjusted. Others have a self-tensioning mechanism that can experience wear over time and may need to be serviced. An aging belt can also begin slipping or squealing, become contaminated with fluid or become misaligned, in which case it will need to be replaced. An old belt can even snap, leaving you up the creek; without one, drive torque to all of the engine's accessories is lost. By replacing your belt periodically, you can minimize the risk of breakdown. However, it is always better to refer to the vehicle owner's manual for the exact changing interval time for safer and better results.
