Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Poly Rib Belt:

The belt was ready for me to pick up at the correct store as designated, within a few minutes after the order was placed on line. The quality of the belt was excellent and installation was very simple and took only a few minutes to complete. I will continue to buy my auto parts from Advance Stores in the future as long as it continues to be simple, and the discounts continue to be available as in the past. The discounts make the products much more competitive as compared to other auto part stores in the area.

                • Q:

I have a 99 Buick Park Avenue with the original serpentine belt with 120,000 miles. Shop manual says to remove the front motor mount held in place by three 15mm nuts, and three studs with spacer sleeves. There is a T40 male built into the head of each stud to unscrew the stud from the block. The E8 socket that fit these T40's are 1/4"m drive, pretty small to back out a stud this big. Naturally they won't budge with the 1/4 inch drive. But I don't want to break anything in this difficult access location. My next thought is to double nut the studs and try to unscrew then that way. How is this part of the job usually done?

                    A:

You have to take the passenger front tire off and remove the outer wheel. Use a 3/8 drive ratchet in the end of the tensioner to give the old belt some slack. You should be able to squeeze your arm up between the frame and engine to do this. Then just pull off the old belt.
