I struggled over whether to spend the extra couple dollars on the Dayco or to buy one of the cheapie belts. Once I received this, I knew I made the right choice. It is of a higher quality rubber and feels more substantial. The warranty is also better. I would make the same choice in the future.

Barely last 14 months before replacement

Wear out just after 12 month warranty. Looking for a better replacement. Not worth the money.

Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Poly Rib Belt:

I bought this belt to replace a belt I had purchased from another auto parts place who also has a warranty on their belt. Theirs only lasted 1 year almost to the install date for the last two years. I no this is a common problem with Trailblazers and Envoys. The last time the other auto parts guy said his wife's envoy belt squeals when you first start it when its wet or cold until it warms up and dries out and thats no reason to change the belt. I disagree a noisy belt means its slipping on one or more pulleys. This belt seems to be better quality and iI hope it lasts. I will let you no if it doesn't.

Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Poly Rib Belt:

Replaced a Dayco belt with this one. Made by Gates, the quality seems good. It was a little longer than my belt that had 150k on it, but ran quieter for the 500 miles I put on the truck the following day.

            • Q:

This will not fit a 2003 Trailblazer EXT. with 4.2L The correct belt for the 4.2L EXT is 5060905 Dayco. This is a shorter belt. The longer one will slip and make power steering pump knock.

do you need a special tool to replace a fanbelt on a 2004
GMC canyon with the 3.5l ? usually do work myself but not
              sure on this one.

              • CUSTOMER CARE

                A:

You will not need a special tool. You will only need a socket set and a long handle socket wrench, or a piece of pipe placed over the handle of the socket wrench give you better leverage when you relieve the belt tensioner.
