Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Poly Rib Belt:

Double check the application to your vehicle at the sales counter, especially if it is carried as an emergency spare. I was given the belt for a 3.0 L V6 instead of my 4.0 L V6. Mulder says 'trust no-one'.

Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Poly Rib Belt:

My wife was having car trouble on a trip she took with my son to visit a college he was interested in attending. The college was almost four hundred miles from our home. She called me about 60 miles from her destination to let me know the car was acting up. She explained the symptoms and I knew the serpentine belt was going to have to be replaced soon anyway so I called Advance Auto in the city she was going to just to have it if that was the problem or part of the problem. When I called Advance Auto, I inquired about local mechanics and the girl gave me the names of 2 local repair places. I looked online and found both with their own websites. I called both the very next morning, told the repair facilities the symptoms and believe it or not my wife had the best experience ever with car repair. Not only did the facility repair the car, they even drove her to and from the university with no extra charge. Yes, the belt was on the way out and it was replaced by the mechanic. The real problem however was a sensor. Advanced was fabulous.

Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Poly Rib Belt:

[...]the serpentine belt that I purchased was alleged to be equal in quality to OEM, but wore out to fibers in less than 5000 miles of mixed city and highway driving. I will never purchase this brand (Dayco) again, and will strongly discourage any friend that is in the market for its products from doing so either. Purchasing and replacing the serpentine belt in less than six months is a waste of time and money.

Good question, Jesp! Yes, this is a Serpentine type belt. It is made of EPDM, Aramid reinforced material and the backside is made of rubber. This belt is 88.5 inches long and 0.82 inch wide with six ribs.
