This replacement serpentine belt was an exact fit for my 1998 Mercury Sable's old frayed and cracked serpentine belt.

It was easy to install by following the routing instructions on the underside of the Mercury's hood.

No more squealing or slipping. I was able to get nearly 40% off the already low price by ordering on the internet and picking up at my local Advance Auto location.

This belt was easy to install on my 2002 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer 4 Dr. Was same size as original Motorcraft o.e. belt that was on my suv. No more squeal but I think the noise came from the tensioner pulley. That was replaced as well.

Started to delaminate at the splice after two and a half years and 45,000 miles. Advanced replaced it under warranty. OEM was stil good after 80,000 miles. That's what you get for being preventative maint.

Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Poly Rib Belt:

Thought it was a good deal and got it from a local AdvanceAutoParts to replace the factory belt for my 03 Taurus in Aug 2010. It worked fine for a little over 3 months and then started making squeaking noise in Dec 2010. It wasn't getting better as it became colder/warmer in NJ. Contacted the local store and the guy said it could be the pulleys, the idlers, the alternator. water pump etc. I said the OEM belt worked just fine. Finally, the guy said, making noise is not covered by the 1-year warranty whatsoever. If you own a Taurus, get the OEM one. It is less than $28 [...]

        • Q:

Are your quality parts = to original manufactory parts?
Asked on 3/9/2015 by Honeybun from Alexandria VA

          1 answer

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

Hi Honeybun, good question! Of course yes, we do sell the OE quality products. But, it depends upon the manufacturer and specific product. Many of our supplier made their product matches the original and designed with the professional installer in mind. Since the fit and function remains the same for both, their product competes with the OE and dealerships.

        • Q:

Is this a serpentine belt replacing another brand for the idler pulley
Asked on 11/11/2014 by none from stow ohio

          1 answer

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

It's a good question! This serpentine belt replaces the other brand idler pulley as they are an OE replacement product for your vehicle. However, it's hard to tell for sure, since you didn't mention the specific vehicle. To give you the correct information I would need the year, make, model and engine size of the vehicle.

        • Q:

I replaced the belt on my 1999 taurus with this one. I also replaced the tensioner as well as the idler pulley. I also replaced the alternator which came with a new pulley on it and the pulley on the power steering pump as well. After only 64 days, the belt is chirping ( you can see metal or something engrained in the belt). I haved used Dayco belts on all my cars and have had no trouble with any of them. This is the second time I have had this happen on the taurus. Why?
